Aww how cute! I really like the design of the cat creature. :)

Thank you!

It's too cute! :)

GirlGregg responds:

Thank you very much!

Wow this is really cool! I really like the design of the bird and for a mix between two separate GIFs, this in incredibly seamless.

Amaruuk responds:

Thanks! Yeah, the loop is only 4 frames and the whole thing being limited in frame-count in general helps. That and the painty style.

Hey I like this drawing. The face is lovely. :)

I do however, have a tiny complaint about the background. I wish you could have chosen a light grey or faded color because the white is way too overpowering.

You and your majestic auroraphrax! I love the glow eminating from his feathers as well as that incorporeal-esque aura. :)

Trying not to oversaturate colors can be a real pain.. I know XD. One thing to maybe also experiment with is using different colors for shadows and blending. For instance, a very dark reddish purple makes gorgeous shadows and maybe adding a yellowish tint to those shinier bits would give it more life.

Kayas-Kosmos responds:

Thanks! Yes, I'm always so tempted to make it as colourful as possible, I just seem to be addicted to bright colours! XD And I like the suggestions you make there. I tend to be very safe with colours and just go for the obvious which isn't always the best option. This probably could benefit from a little variety :D

Cute! I like your preview pic trick. ;)

Funnier even that his original name is Boober. =P

LegolaSS responds:

everyone knows that

Beautiful drawing! Your concepts are always stunning. Keep up the wonderful work. :)

Kamikaye responds:

Thx a lot :) I will !

Love your drawing

I love the concept, the spider is very well drawn, and the perspective and poses are really good.

But I can't help but point out the paw that's sticking up. Maybe you could have had it at a different angle. It looks a little bit like he's scratching an itch using the ground.

Besides that, I like it.

SpiderRat responds:

Thank you for the kind review! I can see what's wrong with the paw now that it's pointed out. Something about it always bothered me, but I couldn't tell what.

I know I like it.

I love the uniqueness of the monster as well as the really odd "romance" between two incredibly different things. The lighting is wonderful and the raindrops falling on their head makes a great touch.

Cool

Overall, I like the detailing you put in the dragon, it has good-looking scales and you come a great bakground.

But when I looked closer at the picture, the background was blurred a little and the dragon put on it made it look like a collage. Plus the posture looks a little weird to me, maybe you could have raised the lower back a little more. and the tail looks unrealistically crooked, if it was curved a little more, it would seem a little more suited. The wings also could have been lower down the shoulders, it looks like they are positioned on the top of her neck. The colour doesn't match too well either, a camoflauge green, red, or dark yellow would be a good choice.

I personally don't like the hair, it seem extreamly unnecessary (that's me, I dislike it on most animals people draw) Frill or spikes coming down would be a personal preference, in case you wanted to make a single person happy :P I'm not sure what you meant by "To keep warm" but frankly, dragons are lizards and spending a litte time in the sun would definately fix that.

Cheeseycom responds:

Thanks for the feedback.

That's the thing about photo-manipulation, my work can only be as detail as the lowest resolution photo I use.. and unfortunately I'm very limited by the fact that I'm not willing to pay for professional stock, so all the photos I use are free (and generally only medium res at best). I'm not particularly happy with the background either, but I made the dragon long before I decided to add it to a background.

The position is based on someone else's drawing of a dragon that I used as reference. I haven't received any complaints from a number of dragon-related groups on deviantArt (and my dragon obsessed girlfriend, who this was made for), so I'm assuming it's actually an ok pose. The tail is the trunk of an elephant (remember this is composed of modified photos), and was the only image i could find for free that curved in the direction I wanted.
As for the colours.. you'll have to take that up with my girlfriend - this is my take on one of her characters, and she picked all of the colours. Same goes for the hair.. she did a cartoony dragon version of herself and it has hair..

I don't know what to tell you about the 'keeping warm' part.. if you'd read the description properly you'd know that this was entered in my girlfriends "What Can Tia Do To Keep Warm?" competition, that started earlier this winter. Yes, I know dragons are technically reptiles but they're also imaginary and have quite a mythological history of living in my country, which is not warm.. spending time in the sun is a tall order in the UK, so it's easier for the dragon to just migrate somewhere warmer for a bit.
